In this month’s Shop Talk, we visited Classic Industries of Huntington Beach, CA., a major staple in the car restoration world. Classic Industries has built this reputation thanks to the fact that they carry it all; from sheet metal to suspension, steering, braking, trim interior, and accessories. Some of you might remember a few years back when we visited Classic Industries’ headquarters, and since a return visit was long overdue, we weren’t surprised at just how much this car builder’s haven had grown. Compared to what we saw on our initial visit, it is safe to say that the business has likely tripled, and grown exponentially. They’ve grown so fast that they are forced to use just about every square inch of their lot to keep stock in place for their loyal customers.
Originally founded in 1976, Classic Industries started out by selling small items for the restoration of early model Camaros in a small facility in Palm Springs, CA. Since then, they’ve expanded from operating out of the trunk of a Camaro to two massive campuses; with their company headquarters featuring a showroom, corporate offices, production areas, a call center, shipping center, and an expansive warehouse for housing one of the largest inventories of parts and accessories in the business. Recognized as the undisputed leader of the restoration parts industry, Classic Industries is also one of the largest and most respected distributors of original, reproduction, and performance parts and accessories for GM and MOPAR models. For nearly four decades, the Huntington Beach-based company has provided over 1,000,000 customers with the hard-to-find parts and accessories they’ve needed to restore their vehicles. Their extensive and comprehensive full-color catalogs are known for accurate descriptions and helpful information towards the restoration and performance of 1967-2012 Camaro models; including the all-new 5th Generation Camaro, 1967-2002 Firebird & Trans-Am, 1958-1996 Impala, Caprice, Bel Air, GM Full Size B-Body models, 1959-60 El Camino, 1947-2008 Chevy and GMC Trucks, 1962-79 Chevy II / Nova and 1960-76 MOPAR A-Body, B-Body and E-body models.
Classic Industries’ greatness stems from the fact that they are more than just a great restoration parts dealer. You can also find many of the fine performance and customization brands that enthusiasts and restorers rely on, like Air Ride, AutoMeter, B&M, Lokar, Hurst, Auto Meter, Chris Alston’s Chassisworks, Detroit Speed & Engineering, Edelbrock, Moser, and many more represented within the pages of the company’s catalogs. They are constantly updating these catalogs as well, adding parts to their inventory daily. The company has also been featured on many major TV shows such as Overhaulin’, Chop, Cut, Rebuild, My Classic Car, and has appeared in numerous magazines, including Hot Rod, Car Craft, Hemmings Motor News, and most publications that feature Classic and Muscle cars. Be sure to check Classic Industries’ new products pages to see what’s new for your vehicle, and when you stop by, make sure to let them know that you saw them in Lowrider Magazine!
