For promoter "El Larry" Gonzales, finding the right venue to hold a lowrider car show is a daunting task. The place has to be perfect for cars, indoors and out, in addition to having an area that can be fenced off for the hydraulics contest and can be easily cleaned up after parts and oil spill all over the place. And then you have the weather to contend with.
In April '06, L.G. Productions presented the eighth annual Que Onda Car Show and Concert at the Fresno County Fairgrounds in Fresno, California. This event once again featured some killer rides and some famous names in the entertainment music world. However, on the Saturday night before the big show, Mother Nature unleashed a torrent of rain that put Sunday's event turnout in question. At one point, the L.G. staff thought about heading back to the hotel until show entrants parted the gates and rolled in with some trophy-winning custom vehicles on trailers. The party was on.
