Still making waves, the "Tamale Kingpin" takes the INS by the horns with They Can't Deport Us All.
You've seen him on MTV and Saturday Night Live, in every major magazine, and on a recent cover of USA Today. You've seen his bobblehead and coloring book, you might have seen him perform at a Lowrider Magazine Tour stop, and you've probably even used his hot sauce. You know that we can only be talking about the one and only Chingo Bling.
Chingo Bling, the "Ghetto Vaquero" known for his ingenuity, is one of the hottest artists to bust out of Houston, Texas, or anywhere else over the past few years. His originality and his skill to spit the truth might offend some people, but Chingo has taken his fame to the next level, a trend that continues with his new album called They Can't Deport Us All.
Chingo Bling's marketing skills are known worldwide and he's grabbed the attention of big producers, but for his latest release he decided to partner with Asylum Records. Chingo represents the millions of Mexican Americans who started with nothing and prospered through plain hard work. Chingo has built an empire known as Big Chile Enterprises. With his crazy Tejano style, including custom-made Nike boots, Chingo is bound to attract attention.
Chingo Bling's new album, promoted with big billboards reading "They Can't Deport Us All," has also grabbed him the wrong kind of attention. He's reportedly been targeted as a "criminal" by haters. His "Taco Truck" was vandalized while parked at La Pulga Del 59, a popular swap meet on the southside of Houston, and then disappeared altogether. Even after filing police reports, Chingo's vehicle has not yet been recovered.
So with Chingo Bling's new album dropping, make sure to pick it up and help Chingo stick it to the man by backing him up as much as you can. That way, we can start making waves and taking a stand, and show people that we're not here to hurt anybody, just better ourselves. The new CD's also good entertainment in the grand Chingo tradition. "H-towners" and other Tejanos will especially be able to relate to its characters and place references, but people everywhere will have no trouble getting into the swing of the Chingo Bling thing.
