For the 2007 models, GMC decided to totally change up the look of both the Tahoe and Yukon models. It was a risky move, since the market was leaning towards vehicles that were designed to be more economical in nature. The move paid off, however, as the sales of both exceeded the expectations of GMC within the declining SUV market.

Many of the purchased SUVs ended up with big wheels. Israel Carmona of Santa Ana, CA., purchased his Yukon with the intentions of slapping some oversized chrome wheels on it. Israel bought the Yukon in brand new condition, fresh off the lot, and within two weeks of purchasing it, he took it in to have it painted cobalt blue. This was going to be Israel's first build in the big wheel scene. "At the time, everyone was fixing up Tahoes, so that's why I decided to be different and go with the Yukon," he explains. Many people in the big wheel scene were throwing candy paint and silver leafing on their rides but in his quest to not follow the crowd, Israel decided to take his Yukon to Izzy of Tintaz in Buena Park, CA. Izzy threw multiple candys in a variety of patterns to give the Yukon that Lowrider flavor to help Israel in his quest.

"I know it's a new style, but I would like to thank Lowrider Magazine for giving us an opportunity to display our cars since we don't really have anyone else that will feature our rides."
