Anyone that grew up in Oxnard, CA can testify that the area has certainly had its fair share of Lowrider activity. The Oxnard scene had a huge influence on Chris Fields who grew up there dreaming of participating in the local culture. "Oxnard Blvd and Saviers Rd. was the spot to be, and watching everyone cruising out there really influenced me into the scene," says Chris. In the early '90's Chris used to cruise around with his Compa, Robert Garcia, in his '63 convertible. It was Robert who helped Chris find the '62 that is being featured here, a discovery that was made more than eight years ago. "I had a friend that passed away who used to own a '62 and since then, the '62 Impala has been my favorite car," Robert says sincerely.

The '62's transformation began almost immediately after Chris had purchased it, but it didn't take long for him to run into problems with the build. "We tore the car down and we took it to a few different painters, but unfortunately they ended up being the wrong guys," says a frustrated Robert. "One of them started working on the car, but three years later, it was just sitting on the side of his house. I kept calling him and going over to his house to see the work but it was just evident that it wasn't going to happen." After getting fed up with the painter, Chris went by and took his car back. It was around that time when his fellow club member, Jose Barba, hooked him up with Low Lowz and More out of Rialto, CA. "It was smooth sailing after I took it in to Low Lowz and More," explains a relieved Robert.

"I tried to make the car look "gangsta" by adding the blinds; a booty kit and having it lay real low. Once I was finished, it just came naturally to me to name the car, "The Seventh Letter."

Chris would like to thank Eklips and Young K for helping him with the design of the bat switches and the knock off chips, Risky for hooking him up with OG Abel, and he'd like to send a special thanks to his wife and kids.
