Old Memories car club, of the Tucson, Arizona, chapter, joined the ranks of the Senior Class of Lowriding this past winter with its 30th anniversary dinner and dance held at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel. The night was filled with friends, family, and laughter reminiscing good times of the past and creating “new” Old Memories centered on the love for building Bombs. An acquired talent and skill most of us can only admire and not master like these veterans.

The Tucson Az., Chapter all started in 1981 because of a job transfer with Tony Lopez, of South Los Angeles Old Memories. Tony brought the mountain to Mohamed in creating the Tucson Chapter which now cruises some of the Baddest Bombs Arizona has to offer. The Chapter was a Bomb builders paradise, recruiting members like Manny Urquides, Carlos AKA “Carlitos Way” Smith, Martin Martinez, Lucas Mireles, Gene Mireles, Steve Mireles, Bobby Valenzuela, Bob Serna, Smiley Grijalva, Victor Veraldez, Frank Vasquez, and Al Teran.

Old and new members alike celebrated by dancing to Oldies and Tex Mex with live music complements of The Knight Owls, from El Paso, Texas. Old Memories Chapter Representatives from San Gabriel Valley California, South L.A., Phoenix Arizona, New Mexico, and Denver Colorado made their way to Wild Cat Country to show their support and love for their Bomb brothers. Seeing the OG Members attending meant allot in respecting the Plaque that built the club all the way from South LA. It also set the mood for the clubs future in gaining new promising members with an old-School heart and soul of recreating body by Fisher to Old Memories classics and customs.

The evening highlights included Founder Tony Lopez and Manny Urquides receiving Lifelong Awards and David Holguin receiving a special award for his dedication to the car club. Looks like we will all continue to see these beautiful Bombs creating Old Memories wherever they go.

Congratulations to Old Memories Tucson Chapter in keeping the high standard of Bomb building and car clubbing for over thirty years strong!
