What started off as a hobby for Jaime Ayala, of Ceres, CA., ended up becoming his profession. “I’ve always been a car enthusiast. When I started working on my own cars, it was tough; nobody showed me how to get started in this business, so learned on my own,” says Jaime, who started up his own shop ten years ago. Located in Ceres CA., Jaime’s auto shop, “PR Customs” is thriving. It served as the perfect place to tackle his 2001 Silverado, a project one of his fellow Nokturnal car club members left unfinished. “The project was about forty percent finished when I got it, and I pretty much just finished it off from there,” says the enthusiast. The stock Chevy 4.6 engine received a few upgrades, such as Flowmaster exhaust and headers, an Interstate battery and GM Performance intake and dress up accessories. Jaime decided to add a few modifications to his Silverado, including an Escalade front end, and custom side mirrors and rear bumpers. When it was time for paint, Fernando at PR Customs spray painted the truck with a House of Kolor Sunset Gold and Denise of Corbett Graphics in Modesto, CA., added custom pinstripes, but not before Jaime shaved off the bodylines himself. Edgar Vargas, of PR Customs, installed the Contitech airbags and custom fabricated A-arms and rear links. Once the dash and interior panels were fiber-glassed, Gerardo at PR Customs stitched together the black leather diamond tuck and ostrich inserts. Jaime Ayala installed the Pioneer head unit with Arc Audio amps that push the JL Audio subwoofers and MB Quarts tweeters and mids. To finish off his ride, Jaime added 24x10-inch RS Sport wheels that were color matched and wrapped with 255/30R24 Nexen tires. Jaime would like to thank his wife for always supporting him in his hobbies.
