Ever since the tender age of 14, Miami's Claudio Molina has indulged in a love affair with the Lowriding lifestyle. After picking up his first Lowrider Magazine, young Claudio was enamored with the sport, and he vowed that one day his own hard work and dedication would be exhibited in this prestigious magazine as well. In June 2009, a good friend, who was selling the very same car he was looking for, contacted him. He had a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood that needed a little TLC, so he called on Claudio to come take a look at the car. Needless to say it was love at first sight, and Claudio purchased the car, immediately forming his own build plan. With the help of a few friends, and a little "Backyard Boogie," the car began to take shape.
The Cadillac was initially taken to Harold at Chico's Hydraulics, where it received a 3-pump CCE setup. Color master Geo stepped in and got down on the paint, working his magic with a candy Teal Green from House of Kolor with buckskin accents, which really set the car off. A good friend and a do-it-yourself guru, Juan-Carlos aka "Chicho," moved in and laid down some sick leafing. He decided to add a few intricate patterns to give the car the extra bit of detail he was trying to achieve. Claudio's vision was slowly taking shape at this point in the build. The services of pin-stripers Reed and Miguel were called up on next, as their expertise would be key to achieving the look Claudio was going for. They were asked to make something special happen, something that was really going to set the standard for the streets of Miami. After the job was accomplished, the final result was a plethora of tight turns and razor-sharp edges that would put any F-1 race to shame. Finally, a friend and a local tattoo artist, Purple, was brought in to take care of the airbrushing.
Now that the exterior was complete, Claudio thought it was fitting to give this car a proper interior. He took the interior to R.O. Elegance Upholstery, and the once-factory leather interior became drenched in Buckskin leather, teal suede and Ostrich. The crew Fiberglass-wrapped the dashboard, and added a custom rear deck to house 4-6x9 speakers and side pillars to really catch the eye. 3-D designs lent the right touch to really make this car special. Thinking he was done, Claudio opened up his hood and found that the stock color would not work with his ultimate plan. He knew the car would feel incomplete if the engine didn't receive the same 5-star treatment the body had previously enjoyed. After the smoke cleared, every bolt was chromed, and every piece of metal and plastic received the proper tone from House of Kolor. After the makeover, he decided to take a look at the suspension components. What he saw was an eyesore. He needed to see more chrome than James Bonds archrival "JAWS," and instead he saw ground metal and rust. Action Plating received notice and began to work on the legs of his car. Triple-plated chrome wrapped every nook and cranny of his suspension thanks to their expert staff. Finally, at long last, an exhausted Claudio was done.
The time has come for him to display all he has worked for in the form of the mean teal green machine now known as "SO HOOD." This candy-painted beast is known for shutting down local shows in Miami. The leather, ostrich, and suede-wrapped interior, with custom options you couldn't find at your local Cadillac Dealer, really makes this car a force to be reckoned with in the streets too. Claudio marvels at how a car that was actually built in a backyard is now able to take home as many accolades as "SO HOOD" has recently. From Best of Show to Best Interior, the pride of Majestics Miami Car Club has clearly set the bar very high. This immaculate Caddy is a true example of hard work and dedication, and it's clear that Claudio wouldn't have it any other way.
