Classic Treasures And Valuable Objects Of Wealth And Fortune

Classic Car Parts Accessories Remington Shaver

Last month we introduced our newest section to Lowrider Magazine; Lowrider Deluxe. The dictionary defines the word as "notably luxurious, elegant, or expensive," so this new section will focus on those premium additions that builders use to bring their cars to life. We'll profile luxury accessories, priceless customizations, and those rare and hard-to-find parts that can really push a Lowrider build into exclusive territory.

The saying "one man's trash becomes another man's treasure" couldn't be more true than in the world of automobile restoration. Back in the day, the automobiles that were 30 or 40 years old were considered "Bombs." This type of thinking has changed somewhat, since today, a '69 Caprice is about 40 years old, while the early year Fleetlines and Master Deluxes are almost 70 years old at this point.

The following items in this new Deluxe section will make you appreciate the gems that you may already have, while also showcasing some rare and amazing pieces, not commonly seen these days.

  • Classic Car Parts Accessories Remington Shaver
Remington Shaver for your car! It's nice to know that 50 years ago, people were trying to save time while commuting to work by using these vintage 12 volt shavers. Luckily for them, they didn't have to deal with all the hands-free laws that most of us are having to abide by today.

  • Classic Car Parts Accessories Cap
This locking GM Gas Cap was implemented when the U.S. government started rationing gas in the 1940's, due to World War II. With gas costing as much as it does today, these locking gas caps might make a comeback. However, with a price tag of $600-800 for a gas cap in NOS condition, it might be a while before I can buy one for myself!

  • Classic Car Parts Accessories Fenders
Fender skirts are the pieces of body panels which cover the upper portions of the rear tires of an automobile. They were typically detachable to allow for tire changes. They were implemented for both aesthetic and aerodynamic reasons. Rather than air flowing into and being trapped in the rear wheel well, these allowed the air to flow smoothly over the body. A set of these NOS FoxCraft Fender Skirts for a 1958 Impala can start off at $3,500, and have been sold up to $5,000.

  • Classic Car Parts Accessories Banjo Steering Wheel Box

Rumor has it that if you can find something close to this one, you'll be paying up to $5000! (That's MINUS the box too!)

  • Classic Car Parts Accessories Headlight Indicators
Headlight Indicators were built to show the driver that their headlights were on while you drove. They also allowed you to determine whether or not you had your high beams on. This option was vastly available, making these still fairly easy to find, and they won't set you back like the other options available today.
