Lowriders! Start Your Chromed-Out Engines And Win $20,000
Castrol has decided to go at it again with a Top Car Challenge that will give us another chance to prove lowriders are all show and all go.

This year's Castrol Syntec Top Car Challenge will be a competition to find out who has the ultimate car. It will involve seven selected Source Interlink Media titles; Lowrider, eurotuner, Import Tuner, Honda Tuning, Modified, Super Street and 5.0 Mustang. The rules are simple and anybody that has a safe and fast lowrider can try out to be the one to represent the Lowrider movement, but at a faster pace.

Rules:
1. Only a production engine found in a production based car (minimum 500 chassis sold in the US) will be allowed for competition.

2. Vehicle must be currently registered and tagged for road use in the United States. The vehicle must be registered in the owner's name, it cannot be under a business name and registered owner must be present during the competition.

3. All competitors will be required to meet at a designated meeting area and drive on public roads to the track. Towing of vehicles to the track is not allowed.

4. No nitrous, methanol, auxiliary fuel or water injection is allowed.

5. All vehicles must be equipped with a full exhaust system and catalytic converter. Pre-1975 vehicles that were not required to have a catalytic converter are exempt. No exhaust bypass systems are allowed.

6. Full interiors and factory glass must be retained. Only interior pieces that may be removed are for safety equipment (roll cage, harness etc.). You may replace factory seats and steering wheels with aftermarket units. Vehicles are required to retain their heater cores, factory dash and air bags (steering wheel and seats equipped with air bags may be replaced with aftermarket units).

7. All cars must pass safety tech, factory 3-point seat belts are allowed. If a car does not come factory with a 3-point harness or has changed to a non-factory seat belt setup, will need to have a minimum of a 5-point harness properly installed.

8. Tube frame chassis's are not allowed.

9. All tires must be DOT approved and widely available in the United States. Minimum UTQG is 60, tires may not be shaved. Teams will be required to run on the same set of tires/wheels for the entire competition. Tires will only be allowed to be changed in the case of a blowout.

10. Parts must be provided by the competitor. Should any parts be outsourced from other manufacturers individual competitors cover any additional expenses or negotiate individual sponsorships. The object of the competition is to ensure most parts are obtainable to the reader.

11. Custom parts will be allowed. Aftermarket parts used can be modified.

B. Fuel And Oil
1. Fuel choice is open.
Spec Castrol oil of team's requested weight will only be used. No oil additives will be allowed.
