Taste Of Wine - 1965 Chevrolet Impala

Cruising On High In The Rockies

Thirty-two-year-old Sean Stoddard, of Pueblo, Colorado, has been in Rollerz Only Car Club for 11 years. As a young boy, he was always fascinated by the intricacies of custom lowrider vehicles. At 21, he and fellow member Jose Maes started Colorado's first Rollerz Only chapter. After the first two years of helping run a very successful club, Maes moved out of state, leaving the helm to Sean. Nine years later, Sean has brought Rollerz Only to a new level in Colorado.

Having classic Chevys is the status of lowriding excellence, so Sean set out to find the perfect classic. Jesse Rodriguez, a fellow club member, had a pristine '65 Chevy Impala convertible but was taking his classic in a different direction by adding air suspension and loud music. Sean saw this as an opportunity to create a masterpiece. He purchased the Impala and immediately removed the air suspension. His next order of business was correcting the lifting.

The Impala was brought to Bernie Salazar in Berthoud, Colorado, for suspension. A three-pump, four-dump hydraulic setup was used to lift the heavy frame. Salazar used fiberglass for the fenderwells to reinforce the body. The Chevy was then driven to Denver where Jose Quesada stripped the stock paint down and coated it with a combination of ghost patterns and House of Kolor Candy Brandywine paint. The interior was given a makeover using maroon and white vinyl wrapping over the seats.

As a district manager for a financial company in Pueblo, Sean is responsible for maintaining a high degree of integrity and respect. Running a well-known, elite club like Rollerz Only gave him the experience built using those strong traits. He named his Impala "Taste of Wine" and says, "Without the help of my brothers in Rollerz I wouldn't have been able to complete my dream." Having a top to drop and cruise makes Sean's Impala a perfect weekend cruiser. He plans on passing his love for lowriders down to his daughter, Mikayla, and maintaining the strong bloodline.
