Cande Cedano, of Las Vegas, considers himself a true lowriding type of guy, and he definitely has the means to prove it with this ultra-clean '49 Chevy 3100 pickup truck. The license plate basically reads "en suelo," which translates "on the ground." The hydraulically controlled suspension allows Cande to drop the Trokita down to the ground and raise it up when it's necessary to get down steep driveways and climb over speed bumps.
The second bit of proof that Cande is a true lowrider guy is that he is a longtime member of GoodTimes Car Club-a club that's well known for bringing out some of the coolest rides on the boulevard. Cande's truck is no exception. When there is a local cruise, car show, or barbecue, this fine '49, aka "Boulevard Junkie," is there to make its appearance and catch some attention.
Cande has really transformed this ride from a junky old truck to a prized possession that anyone could appreciate, both young and old. Sporting a chrome undercarriage, by APS in Las Vegas, and custom elegant engraving, by Willie "Tiger" Lopez from Las Vegas, there hasn't been a detail of this truck left untouched. Four years and $30,000 later and Cande says that he has more customizations coming soon to his mean, green machine. He says what's been done so far couldn't have been done without the support of his wife, Yvette, and his fellow members of Good Times Car Club. Everyone will be looking forward to what's next for the Boulevard Junkie.

Engine: Cande did the necessary engine work on the split-manifold '53 Chevy engine. This Trokita has the typical three on the column and straight pipes for the exhaust.
Interior: Ricky at Exotic Leatherworks in Las Vegas handled the interior upgrades, including using a bench seat from a '95 Chevy Silverado.
Body: Eric Naranjo at Sharp Lines in Las Vegas handled all the prep and Bodywork, using a custom green tint and a DuPont ChromaBase paint as the final finish over the truck's body. Pinstriping was done by Zack Felix of Las Vegas.
System: Opting to keep the system clean and low-profile, Cande simply installed a Kenwood head unit for an audio entertainment upgrade.
Setup: "Cracker" from Good Times Car Club and of the Finger Tight Hydraulics Shop in Las Vegas installed the hydraulic setup. There are 8-inch cylinders in the front and 10-inch cylinders in the back, which give this low ride the height needed at the touch of one of the four dash-mounted switches. One whammy tank, four dumps, and four batteries are neatly installed under the truck's bed. "Frog," also from Good Times, did any chassis work needed for the suspension upgrade.
Wheels: 100-spoke chrome OG Wires
Tires: Champion 155/80-13 whitewalls
