We first spotted this car while it was being built at Mario's Auto Works in Montclair, California. The result of a few months of creativity was a beautiful '87 Chevy Monte Carlo Luxury Sport. Everything on this G-body was gone through from the floor up, making sure that all areas of the ride, including the engine, were up to the Elite Car Club standard.
Adrian De Alba took on most of the build, designing and coordinating the project. Adrian wanted to keep the stock 305 engine, but wanted it to look good so he bolted on a few accessories. Adrian used a Billet Specialties mid-mount alternator and power steering bracket kit. All of the fuel and vacuum lines on the Edelbrock 650-cfm electronic choke carburetor were hard-lined. All of the billet accessories and high-performance parts were bought at Big B Auto. The engine block and compartment were custom painted to match the exterior of the car.
Mario's Auto Works made this car look good under the hood as Adrian and Greg De Alba really paid attention to detail on this engine build. Plans for this ride still include Roland having custom fenderwells made. We'll have to see what the future holds for this custom G-body; maybe we'll be bringing it to you in an upcoming issue of Lowrider.
