The story of this Impala started in 1962 when it first rolled off of the assembly line and into someone's garage (stopping for a short time at a Chevy dealer). The 35-year-old current owner's story began when he was 16 years old. That was when Carlos Lozano got into lowriding and became one of the original members of Majestics Car Club's San Diego chapter. Like many people in lowriding, Carlos had his heart set on an early '60s Impala, and he came across this '62 in a friend's backyard.
Being in pretty good shape, the car's owner was asking a premium price; some $10,000 to be exact. But owning this car was what Carlos had always wanted, and with that, the deal was done. The next eight months were spent by Carlos bringing his dream to fruition.
The project was going well and at what seemed to be lightning speed, but you know that somewhere in the story there had to be some drama and that came one sunny afternoon. After leaving a picnic, Carlos got the car a little twisted up. With the ensuing damage, Carlos had a fair amount of repairs to do and decided to repaint the car black.
Like most projects, this one is not yet finished. Carlos is looking at doing more chrome plating of the undercarriage, among other things. Being with Majestics, the streets are always calling Carlos and most of the time he's only a top down and key turn away.

Interior: An OG interior kit was installed by Juan in Tijuana, Mexico.
Sound System: A Sony head unit, Punch 600 amp, JBL mids and highs, and a Kicker subwoofer were hooked up by the owner.
Setup: Two Red's Hydraulics pumps, four dumps, 8-inch cylinders all around, four switches and eight batteries were installed at Bottom's Up in San Diego.
