Double MintOwner: Eli Martinez
Vehicle: '47 Chevrolet Fleetmaster
City/State: Chimayo, New Mexico
Club: No affiliation
Engine/Drivetrain: Keeping it as real as possible, the '47's still running its original 216-c.i.d. engine, though Daniel Garcia was called into Eli's shop, Extreme Twist Body Shop in Chimayo, to modernize the inline-6 with a 12-volt conversion, electronic ignition, and split manifold/dual exhaust system with 8-inch glass-packs.
Body/Paint: Working at his shop, Eli smoothed the classic curvy Chevy sheet metal before finishing Double Mint with a two-tone paint job featuring PPG seafoam green and emerald green. Various parts were chrome plated via the U.S. Mail by Victor at Millennium in Ontario, California.
Interior: Eli liked the original restored upholstery, though he did roll out new carpeting and add a few OG accessories like a view finder and steering wheel knob.
Sound System: Eli's friend Elmo Sanchez was tickled to install an Alpine head unit with Alpine tweeters and midrange speakers.
Suspension: The car was lowered 12 inches from its original ride height by cutting coils and using lowering blocks.
Tires: 5.60x15 Firestone wide whitewall
Wheels: 15-inch with Lancer hubcaps
