The heat of the upcoming Las Vegas summer can be all the rage and John "Mucc Dog" Moore has "The Formula" literally for a fun-filled one. For Mucc Dog, it's about being able to cruise his '65 Chevy Impala around town and hangin' out with his fellow One Luv Car Club members. The car was found in The Recycler, a national for-sale paper and John fell in love with it when he went to see it. Flipping off four "large" for the car was a steal for Mucc Dog and it was back to the lab to get the project started.
First off, a motor out of a '77 Chevy received plenty of love in the way of a polished intake, chrome valve covers, MSD ignition and Holley carb, just to name a few of the goodies. A set of headers flowing in some glass-packs leaves a rat-a-tat-tat in the ears of everyone it rolls by. A Turbo 350 transmission puts the power in the right gear. A three-pump Pro-Hopper setup and 10 batteries keep the fully wrapped and molded frame struggling to stay straight on those late night switch-hitting roll-outs.
When it comes to visuals, the candy violet paint catches your eye, but the ghost patterns have you looking deeper. The fine vinyl and tweed interior is an easy on the eyes and even easier to sit in, providing comfort on those hot Vegas days and nights. With the help of God, friends and family Mucc Dog made it happen, and in the end, he dedicates the car to his cousin "Boney," who was with him when he bought the car, but has since left us. We're sure that all during the build Mucc Dog had visions dancing in his head of the day that he would be able to roll out onto the Vegas strip and just cruise, getting necks turning and straining to get a glimpse of The Formula.

Engine/Drivetrain: This '65 runs a '77 Chevy small-block 350-c.i.d. V-8 featuring a full billet pulley system, polished intake and chromed valve covers, all built by Eric "Easy E" Jensen at All Performance in Las Vegas.
Body/Paint: Pat Lucas Customs in Las Vegas performed all of the paint and bodywork. House of Kolor candy violet purple paint forms the base on which body line-accenting ghost patterns were applied.
Interior: Uptown Upholstery's Esteban performed the interior transformation, recovering the seats in gray vinyl and tweed inserts. Matching vinyl door panels were purchased and a new carpet kit was installed to give The Formula a fresh showroom feel.
Sound System: The audio was kept on the old school simple side with an in-dash head unit, four-channel Crossfire amp, four Pioneer 6x9s on the rear deck and a set of Pioneer 6 1/4-inch coaxials in the doors for some bumping and thumping. Fabian at F&S Sound in Las Vegas made it sound as well as look good.
Setup: For strength and endurance in a switch-happy world, the frame was wrapped and molded with some graphics thrown in for good measure. The upper A-arms were also molded and all of this was performed by Joey of J&J in Las Vegas. Three Pro-Hopper pumps, 8-inch front cylinders and 14-inch rear cylinders make the world go up and down for The Formula. A total of 10 Trojan batteries make the power for plenty of back bumper boogieing. Dave at Switch Hitters in Las Vegas made the switch-hitting fun possible.
