Freedom '59Owner: Freddie Brown, Jr.
Vehicle: '59 Chevrolet Impala
City/State: Los Angeles, California
Club: No affiliation
Engine/Drivetrain: John Kennedy and the men at Bowtie Connection in Artesia, California, dropped in a 350-c.i.d. Chevy crate engine and blinged it out with lots of chrome-plated parts, including Street & Performance serpentine billet pulleys and brackets. "Fredo" at Big Worm's Restoration in Inglewood, California, was Freddie's chrome plating connection.
Body/Paint: Two-tone paint jobs were big in '59 and Freddie kept it real with an Estate Green and white finish, expertly applied at Bowtie Connection. Danny of D&D Designs in Baldwin Park, California, put down the pinstriping which can be found all over the car, including under the hood and on the frame. There's not much room for improvement on the '59 Impala sheet metal, but the Bowtie guys did cut in a moonroof.
Interior: A different Freddie, the one at Bowtie Connection, restored the inside of the ride using an appropriately colored '59 interior kit.
Sound System: "Gordo" at Auto Restyling in Paramount, California, installed an all-Alpine system with JL Audio subwoofers to bump those bass beats that drive Freddie's female passengers into a frenzy.
Setup: Anthony Fuentes at Homies Hydraulics in Paramount hooked up a single-pump, whammy tank hydraulics setup with three dumps, four switches and eight batteries.
Tires: P155/80-R13 whitewalls
Wheels: 13-inch L.A. Wire wheels with engraving by David Renteria
