Being a family man, Raj Reddy of Broderick, California, only has so much time to spend on his lowrider lifestyle. Raising Maria, Adrianna and Raj Jr. with his wife, Marcie, can be overwhelming but very fulfilling. Since 1992, Raj has been "riding" with an Olds Delta 88 that had the full-custom treatment and a '64 Chevy Impala Super Sport, but his latest ride was picked up from a friend out of Stockton, California, for several grand.
Now building a ride like this takes a budget, time and plenty of patience. All of which Raj had planned for, as long as it didn't jeopardize his family's livelihood. Since he'd already owned a hardtop '64, Raj really wanted to have an open-air cruiser. Luckily for him, the car was fairly cherry; all stock and not a bit of rust, but he still had Gato Gamino tear it down to the bone, to bare metal, no Bondo, for the acrylic paint job. The car had never been cut (lifted); it was stock as the day it was manufactured, but Raj opted to have an airbag setup and some lowrider flavor.
The best way that you can catch Raj and his fellow "buds" from Lo-Lystics Car Club would be down at Miller Park on Sunday afternoons just kicking it, showing off their cool cars and planning on their next project. Oh yes, Raj is searching for a '59 Impala ragtop to add to his garage. Good luck, dude, that's a rare ride indeed.
