Foxy Brown - 1963 Chevy Impala

There's no fooling around with this low-down 1963 Impala

TECH SPECS
Foxy Brown
Owner: Mark Luna
Vehicle: 1963 Chevrolet Impala
City/State: Santa Fe Springs, California
Club: SouthSide C.C.
Engine/Drivetrain: "Big John" Yamamoto of D&J Automotive in Los Angeles, California, is the master of the motor on the '63. John started out with a '79 GM 350-c.i.d. small-block and added an Isky Mega cam, MSD ignition system, Edelbrock intake manifold with a Holley 650-cfm. carb and a gang of billet accessories. The killer engine is matched up to a Turbo 350 tranny that features a 2,500-rpm B&M stall converter. Tony at Rose Muffler in Inglewood, California, installed the 211/42-inch exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
Body/Paint: Miguel and his crew at G's Body Shop in Long Beach, California, reworked and repainted the car with PPG product in Impala brown. Angelo of Long Beach did the stylish pinstriping, while Willie Olea of Pico Rivera, California, did the patterns on the hardtop. Another nice touch is the original Bobb Chevrolet dealer tag mounted on the trunk. A 44-inch power moonroof installed by Rafael & Son of Los Angeles hovers over the driver and prospective passengers. There was attention to detail and Mark made sure that the chrome was done by Ruben's Plating in Inglewood while the anodized items were sent to Juan's Plating in Hawthorne, California, where Juan tended to such needs. Eddie at the Wire Connection in Bellflower, California, took care of the electrical work in the '63 Impala.
Interior: As for the inside of the ride, Ben and Sons Supreme Upholstery in Inglewood installed the saddle brown interior, which was purchased from Chris at CARS, Inc. in Fullerton, California. Other cool goods include power seats, power windows and power vents, as well as a hat rack for the saddle brown hat from OG Accessories, care of "Mr. Oreo." Oh, and check out the "woodgrained" steering wheel and back glass window blinds done by Richard Ventura of Whittier, California; they add a sharp detail to the handsome "bowtie."
Sound System: Audio dudes "Big Harv" and Mando at Superb Auto in Gardena, California, hooked up the '63 with an array of audio delights, such as an Alpine head unit, Alpine amp setup in mono for bass, four-channel JL Audio amplifier for mids and highs, and a Road Rage capacitor for those energy spikes. The separates include Pioneer highs and mids, while Alpine Type R 10-inch woofers bring up the bottom end. Custom touches such as the sandblasted SouthSide club logo on clear Plexiglas backlit by blue moon neon accent the audio system in the trunk.
Setup: The custom hydro setup was a joint effort with Homies Hydraulics in Paramount, California, doing the initial setup of a whammy tank and square dumps being installed by Anthony Fuentes. The cylinders are 6-inch in front and 10s in the rear. A switch panel has been customized with the SouthSide logo; the switches are wired to eight solenoids and eight group 31 deep-cycle batteries. Mark also had Homies mold the top and bottom A-arms and trailing arms, and add the "SouthSide" sway bar. "Igarachi" of Craps Hydraulics in Santa Fe Springs, California, did the hard-line tubing for the hook-up. The Canadian frame has been wrapped by Arturo "Porky" Nava of Porky's Hydraulics in Perris, California. Mark relied on Ron and Carmen at Foremost Powdercoating in Gardena for his powdercoating needs.
Tires: P155/80-R13 Premium
Wheels: A stop at the Wheel Network in Paramount brought Mark's friend Conrad "The Bad" Garcia into the picture. Conrad fetched a set of 13-inch Zenith wire wheels sporting modified knockoff wheel caps. The caps were engraved with the SouthSide logo by Homies Hydraulics.
