Just My Style
Owner: Ray Trujillo
Vehicle: 1960 Chevrolet Impala
City/State: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Club: La Familia C.C.
Engine/Drivetrain: No more six cylinders for this '60. A '64 Chevy 283-c.i.d. small-block V-8 was rebuilt by Mike Sanchez along with a '72 Turbo 350 tranny from a deceased Monte Carlo. The original frame was replaced with a modified four-door frame with help from Ray's brother-in-law, Ray Manning. Exhaust rat-a-tat-tat is provided by a set of dual exhaust glass-packs.
Body/Paint: Being a painter of cars and other sundry things, Ray handled much of the painting and bodywork chores himself with some help from Jody Baca of J.B. Paint and Body in Albuquerque. All of the trim was repaired and polished by the owner. Front and rear bumpers were rechromed by Electro Plate in El Paso, Texas.
Interior: Being the D.I.Y. guy that he is, Ray handled the interior himself with a little help from a CARS, Inc. vinyl and cloth interior kit. The trunk received some custom love from Ray and his sons in the way of one-off panels that mimic the front door panels.
Sound System: A working AM radio resides visibly in the dash while a Pioneer CD head unit is hidden along with a set of 6x9s to give Just My Style its own sound style. The work was done by the owner.
Suspension: No bricks in the trunk or floorboard, but the suspension was lowered 2 inches all around for that old school lowered look.
Tires: P155/80-R13 Medalist radials with buffed-out whitewalls done at A&A Tire in Albuquerque.
Wheels: 13-inch Roadster wheels with OG '59-'60 spinner caps
