TechspecsElegant '40Owner: Raul Alvarado
Vehicle: '40 Chevrolet Master 85 sedan
City/State: La Puente, California
Club: Puente Viejo C.C.
Engine/Drivetrain: The car runs like a dream. Surprisingly, the OG "blue flame" 216-c.i.d. 6-cylinder engine from the GM factory purrs like a dream through the stock exhaust.
Body/Paint: Raul's "compadr" Ray Herrera and Ruben at La Puente Paint in La Puente did a super job on the vintage metal before dowsing the Chevy with black acrylic enamel. Don Alvarado took a light touch to the body with his tasty pinstriping technique.
Interior: For that OG upholstery, Raul chose Mike Perez of Whittier, California, who is the man to go to for a top-quality interior. Mike can work the mohair fabric with the best of them, right down to the factory specs finish. Adding to the interior is the woodgrain work of Hector from Baldwin Park, California. The specialized talent of woodgraining along both the dash and window frame is something to behold in person.
Sound System: The '40 Chevy received a little audio TLC from the guys over at Audio X-plosion in La Puente. Nothing too extreme, just enough gear to keep Raul happy when rolling down the roads of La Puente.
Suspension: Like the engine, the same can be said about the suspension. The car handles today's roads with yesterday's technology without a hitch.
Tires: Columbia Deluxe whitewall
Wheels: 16-inch steel
