Dueces Blues
Owner: Phillip Ortega
Vehicle: '62 Chevrolet Impala
City/State: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Club: Rollerz Only C.C.
Engine/Drivetrain: 2003 Chevy 350-c.i.d. crate engine was fitted with a chrome air cleaner and valve covers. Steel-braided hose lines, flex fan and heavy-duty radiator, and a gel battery help the '62 fire up and keep cool.
Body/Paint: The body was straightened by "Nasho" and painted "out of the blue" candy blue by Manuel at Euro Motorsports in Santa Fe.
Interior: Sitting in the lap of luxury is a must for Phillip and on that note he had Andrew at B&M in Santa Fe stitch up an interior featuring bone perforated leather in the original pattern. An eightball shifter knob helps get things into gear and an 8-inch drag car steering wheel helps keep it in the lane.
Sound System: A host of audio components from Phoenix Gold and Kenwood play the music that Phillip likes to hear with some authority. Two subs in the trunk make sure that the bass happens. Audio Express in Santa Fe handled the fine install.
Setup: This nice ride floats like a bee with the airbags taking care of any unwanted undulations. Euro Motor Sports of Santa Fe handled the chore of installing all of the necessary components. The frame was powdercoated and the suspension components and rearend were chromed by John at Duke City Plating in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
