We always talk about lowriders giving back and how car clubs are always trying to do something positive for their communities. Each year, Rollerz Only C.C. holds a toy drive that begins with a collection in early December in the parking of the Quiet Cannon, a popular golf course/restaurant in Montebello, California. People stop by all day long to drop off toys for the kids. Local car clubs get into the spirit by showing up with their clean lowriders loaded with toys.
The donations are taken directly to either the East Los Angeles Children's Home, where the kids are treated to a toy or two (and the smiles on their faces make the effort worthwhile), or to the East Los Angeles Fire Dept. station, whose crew distributes them to needy and low income families.
Rollerz Only C.C. and the East L.A. Fire Dept. will be teaming up again in 2007 to put more smiles on kids' faces. Look them up in the near future for details on the location of their next toy drive.
