Get Together of the Millenium

Lowriders shut down at Elysian Park? Millennium Car Club held their annual lowriding picnic get-together in mid-August of 2005. It was once again held at the park, right next door to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Millennium was anticipating a large turnout since the StreetLow Car Show had been planned for that same day at the stadium. Unfortunately, due to some haters, the show was cancelled and all of the lowriders turned their attention to Elysian Park.
By five in the morning, lowriders began pulling up at the park, and by 11a.m., the park was just about full of custom rides, with a lot more expected. It was at about this time that park rangers shut the picnic get-together down as officials cited that a religious group had previously reserved the park for the day. Although there seemed to be no truth to that, the rangers, backed up by the Los Angeles Police Department, successfully shut down the lowriding picnic. Nevertheless, the turnout for the half-day event was phenomenal and fun!
