Straight from the Street

Sometimes the riders can't wait for the big show promoters to throw an event in their region. Sometimes, the lowriders have to take things into their own hands and create their own events. Take, for example, some of the biggest and best car clubs from the Inland Empire area of Southern California: Infinity, Legends and Aftermath. Those are some big words and the clubs definitely live up to their names!

This past August marked the clubs' major effort in bringing together a car show and concert for the IE riders. Held at the Arrowhead Credit Union Stadium in San Bernardino, more than 100 custom cars, trucks and bicycles were on display, including some radical custom low-rides like the famous "Greenade" bomb truck owned by Alex Mercado from Classic Memories Car Club, and the crazy-custom '89 Honda Accord owned by Angel Edwards from Rollerz Only C.C. A concert featuring more than 20 rappers, a bikini contest and an appearance from Sebastian Cetina (seen on Que Locos and Comedy Central) were all live on stage.

Danny from Legends, Lalo from Aftermath and Louie of Infinity headed up the effort to make this event successful, and the end result was good. Big thanks go out to AutoTrader, Big Daddy Wheels and the lowriding community that came out to support this great show. Louie Favela, the president of the Inland Empire chapter of Infinity, says that they plan to make this an annual event, so be on the lookout next year!
