Zeuss Tribute '02

RC Entertainment presents a memorial car show in Fontana.

In September of 1997, well-known lowrider lover, car show producer and co-owner of RC Entertainment, Robert "Zeuss" Clausell, lost his battle with a fatal illness at only 31 years of age. His widely publicized funeral brought out dozens of Southern California lowriders who caravanned to his final resting place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in nearby Covina.

In 2002, Zeuss' brother Andre decided that he wanted do something special to honor the five-year anniversary of his brother's untimely passing. So, with the help of friends and family, RC Entertainment presented the Zeuss Tribute '02 Super Show in conjunction with Family Investments Group at the California Speedway in Fontana, California.

The event was held at the expansive Speedway parking lot next to the drag strip on the same day as the Street Legal Drag Races, which gave the 300+ car show entries and hundreds of spectators even more to see. Plus, thanks to on-going messages from the drag strip announcer about the car show, many race fans also came over to check out the lowriders. A mad musical mix by live DJs, numerous vendors, food booths, a bounce house for the kids and wild monster school bus rides added to the family fun.

The legendary Gary May handled the hittin' hop featuring bumper-standing performances from Jorge Guzman of Boulevard Hydraulics and Art Tuason of Hopp-o's Hydraulics. After the hop, Fontana Assembly member John "Mr. G" Longville presented a special award to Linda Williams and RC Entertainment in recognition of the event.

Dozens of trophies were awarded, as well as thousands of dollars in prize money in numerous classes to the nearly 30 clubs that had displays of cars, trucks, bombs and bicycles set up. Showing support and respect for Zeuss' were Illustrious, Oldies-IE, Majestics, Classic Memories, Classics-Santa Ana, Nokturnal, Elite-SoCal, Status, Uso-LA-Harbor Area, Latin Heritage, Xed Out, Team Cypher, G-Riders, Groupe-ELA, Night Crowd, Mi Patria, Royal Fantasies, Empire Classics, High Class-LA, Stylistics, X-Treme, Classic Bombs, Techniques-IE, Reality-LA, Tierra-ELA, Thee Artistics, Irresistible Show Team and Artistic Impressions.

It was great to see so many lowriders gather for what turned out to be a super OG-style show. "I would like to thank everyone who came out to honor Zeuss' memory," said Andre. "It warms my heart." RC Entertainment is putting on Zeuss Tribute '03 on May 18. For further information call (909) 429-0783.
