While there seems to be a car show, picnic, or fundraiser in California's Central Valley almost every weekend, the Lowrider community in the area was left with a huge void after car show promoters stopped having major car shows at the Fresno Fairgrounds. With multiple area car clubs that have been around for over thirty years such as Estilo, New Style, and Carnales Unidos spawning title holders such as "Strictly Business" and "Punch 84," the local area was dying to have another major show. Luckily for the diehard Lowriders in the area, the Merced Custom Auto Show stepped up to fill that void. This show has attracted some heavy hitters from all over California, such as "Perfect Score," "Heavy Hitter," "Oldie 54," and "Trokita Loca." This year it attracted "Sinful Pleasure," "Cherry 64," and "Strictly Business," to name a few.
The show also has many attractions to provide a fun, family atmosphere which includes jump houses for the kids, live bands, a tug-of-war and more. Despite its varied atmosphere, the show remains dedicated to the cars and culture that make it great. Keep an eye out for the fifth annual show as it will be coming soon, and we hope to be out there once again providing coverage for our readers who are unable to personally attend.
