The Patron C.C. of the East Bay Chapter in Northern California, played host to the second annual benefit car show for the Our Lady of Rosary Church of Union City this past October. The show, held on the church grounds, was part of a big festival held to help raise funds for church youth programs in the community.

Throughout the day, over two thousand members from Bay Area neighborhoods flocked to the small town of Decoto, CA., where the church is located. While they strolled the grounds on this beautiful sunny day, the atmosphere left plenty to be taken in. Various food vendors reflecting the ethnic diversity of the church were on hand, and spectators were treated to games of all sorts, live music, including blues, country, and banda, as well as the always colorful and ever-popular Folklorico dancers. Also on hand were recruiters from the local police and fire departments, handing out literature and gifts to the youth and adults alike.

The main attractions for the day came in the form of 130 rides from the '30's to the '80's, which cruised in and out of the all day event, shining with glistening paint and sparkling chrome. Clubs on hand included Old Memories, Familia, Dukes, Old School, Traffic, Royal Cruisers, Bay Bombs, Nite Life, Style Kings, Padrinos, Bay Area Bosses, and the United Riders Bike Club of San Jose, just to name a few.

All told, the event was a very nostalgic setting, taking one back to the days when it all started. For many of the all age's spectators, it was their first introduction to a full show of classic rides and Lowriders, and they were certainly in awe of the caliber of rides on display. Throughout the day, these spectators asked questions and bestowed compliments to the many owners on hand at the event.

At the end of the day, prior to announcing the awards, Father Jose blessed the participants, their rides, and everyone in attendance and thanked them for their support of a successful show for the church. Father Jose's Choice Award was presented to Lillian of Royal Cruisers; while Best in Show went to Narciso of Traffic C.C., who was presented with a gallon of Patron tequila. Best Bike winner was Steve of Familia C.C., Best Hot Rod/ Custom went to Gilbert of Royal Cruisers, Sponsor Bombs Inc. Choice went out to Jermaine of Old Memories, and Best Truck was awarded to David.

The Patron C.C. members would like to thank all the clubs and everyone who helped or participated in making this event a success, and they wish to welcome anyone interested in next year's show, with the blessing of Father Jose.
