March 12th, 2011 marked the culmination of an incredible two decades of Lowrider excellence for the Lowcos Car Club of Spokane, Washington. Lowcos members and their friends and families celebrated in style with a black tie event at the Ramada Inn. Past and present members lined the banquet room to celebrate this milestone together, while clubs from around the Northwest were also invited and on hand to help celebrate this momentous occasion. Speeches from influential members of UCE, Malditos, and other Northwest clubs served as the commemoration of the present and the inspiration for the next twenty years. A catered dinner, dancing, and a silent auction were all part of the festivities for an incredible evening that no one will soon forget.
In 1991, the club was formed in the purest sense; the love of Lowriding, a thread that would tie in a number of like-minded and passionate members. In its infancy, the club had only a few members, but as the cars started hitting the streets, more car lovers started to peek out from the bushes. As membership grew to twenty-five in 2007, the club caught the attention of a few enthusiasts in Yakima, WA, where another chapter was formed. Today, there are four Northwest chapters that all come together from their respective cities to have toy drives for children and pursue renovation projects for city parks.
With all that is going on in the world today, it’s nice to see passion and dedication prevail. Twenty years of brotherhood is undoubtedly just the beginning for Lowcos Car Club. Congratulations on your success Lowcos, and remember to keep it low!
