The Desirable Ones Car Club was originally founded in 1985 out in Los Angeles, California by Mando Nunez, owner of Hi-Low Hydraulics. In the ’90s, this club was well known for their custom mini trucks and exotic bed dancers. In 1994, a group of guys that had already established themselves as premier custom mini truck builders as Nu Minis Car Club decided they wanted to try their hand at building more traditional lowrider cars. They didn’t want to abandon mini trucks altogether but knew they wanted a new identity, so in 1995, Desirable Ones Car Club arrived in Las Vegas.

Throughout the years the Desirable Ones have graced the pages of all the major lowrider and car enthusiast magazines, setting the standard for Las Vegas lowriders. Mainly known for attention to detail, never taking shortcuts, and always seeking quality versus quantity, the club’s high standards and high expectations have helped them maintain a level very seldom challenged by anyone else in the Vegas area.

Today we were on hand to celebrate the 15th year anniversary of the Vegas chapter, which serves as the mother chapter. The celebrations started with drinks and dinner at the Texas de Brazil in Vegas, and once dinner was over, it was time for a quick club meeting before hitting the cruising scene and representing in the beautiful Vegas weather. As the cars hit the scene, it was the perfect way to wrap up the Saturday night festivities.

After all these years, the Desirable Ones have become a fixture in the Vegas Lowriding scene. We hope to catch them at their next major anniversary celebration as they try to keep up the standards they’ve set for desert cruising. n
