Tthe economy in the United States continues to falter, creating business closures, adding to the elimination of jobs, and provoking cuts to public schools funding. When funding gets cut to the schools, the first programs that feel the effects are the extracurricular programs. To make up the lost of funding, these programs are left to raise the funds on their own. Taking this into consideration, Orange County California’s Santana Car Club teamed up with Bristol Sounds and South West Community Center to produce a car and bike show to benefit the Segerstrom High School’s baseball team. Segerstrom High School officials allowed the use of the school grounds for the show, so the second Sunday in November 2010 was selected as the date for the show. As luck would have it, Mother Nature donated a great day of weather for the show. Car and bike clubs from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego made the trek from their respective areas to support the show. Stylistics, Good Times, Uniques, Members Only, Klique, Sick Side, Impalas, and Herencia brought out some of their rides. Stylistics brought some of their Lowrider magazine featured rides including both of their show winning Cadillacs, Fame and D’Alegancia. Orange County’s Old Style Car Club had their clean 57 ragtop and San Diego’s Members Only brought out their Cheech and Chong inspired Ford van. Good Times and Thee Artistics also had a nice lineup of bikes representing each club. The show had vendors like James from Unique Diecast offering collectable diecast and Big Fish selling his videos. MobStar Clothing was at the show as well, offering up a lot of new items. Throughout the day, raffles were held with prizes provided by event sponsor Joe Bristol of Bristol Sounds. Quite a few people won some great prizes including audio gear from MA Audio, Kicker, and Visionik. After a great day in Orange County everyone huddled around the stage for the trophy presentation. Once the awards were handed out, everyone packed up and headed home with the satisfaction of knowing they spent their Sunday supporting a good cause. n By Jae Bueno Enjoyed this Post?
