Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is a nonprofit academic pediatric hospital that treats the sickest and seriously injured children in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. Many of the children are so sick they spend the holidays in the hospital. The hospital staff does what it can to bring the holidays to the children with the help of monetary and toy donations. Maniacos Car Club of Los Angeles decided to hold a toy drive to reach out to the staff of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in hopes of offering a donation of toys for the kids there. The second Saturday in November 2010, Maniacos held their toy drive at Boulevard Burgers in Bell, California. Traffic, High Class, Majestics, and Delegation were some of the clubs that came to show their support. Big Spike from Majestics brought out his show-winning Regal, and Mark from Traffic showed up with his reworked 58 Impala hardtop. Chiquis from the Mun2 network reality show Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis & RaqC showed up with three vehicles filled with toys. Chiquis spent time in the Mun2 booth signing autographs and taking photos with her many fans. She took time before leaving to walk the event and take a few photos with the car clubs and car owners. Community service and charity work are a big part of Lowriding that many in the general public are unaware of. Lowriding is more than just car clubs and car shows. Lowriding is also about giving back to our communities and setting a positive example to today’s youth. Because of the generosity of Maniacos Car Club and others, the children of Children’s Hospital will have a holiday season filled with gifts.
