Phoenix Arizona 2010 - Lowrider Tour

The Southwest is always a good stop for Lowrider Magazine, especially when hydraulics are legal to have in the great state of Arizona. This ensured that we would kick off our Lugz-sponsored tour on a positive note, knowing that a sold out line up of 600 juiced cars were waiting to be displayed at Arizona State Fair Grounds. While the venue itself was an incredible host, the weather was not as kind. Mother Nature brought more of a Midwest atmosphere to this Southwest indoor/outdoor event. That didn't stop over 10,000 wet and dedicated spectators from rolling through the gates to check out the industry's top rides though.

As usual, the show grounds were packed and featured no wasted space, regardless of the predicted weather at the venue . The cars came from far and wide, as everybody was ready to kick off the year in full force. The big three were in the house, as the Majestics CC rolled deep with a impressive lineup.Rollerz Only also had a strong showing, as founder Troy promoted his club in vendor's row. UCE held it down indoors, as they featured their latest Los Angeles Chapter of the UCE family. Desireable Ones CC from Las Vegas made a great guest appearance, as they brought out a few of their big guns, including Marty Felix' "Life After Death," which placed third in the sweepstakes class. The Stylistics looked good inside the hall as well, since they featured their February LRM cover car. Society also had a few gems on display, including a recently finished '64 Impala owned by head judge Danny Ochoa. Klique CC out of Arizona supported the event, as did Groupe. The Imperials of Phoenix decided to roll through the show with an impressive lineup for all to see as well.

The concert began as Mr. Capone-e opened up for Li'l Rob, who tore it up for all the fans that came out to support. He rocked a set of some of his classics, including "Summer Nights," "Super Bad," "Playground," and "Bring out the Freak in You." Baby Bash also killed it for the crowd, as he performed "Baby I'm back," "Suga Suga," "Outta Control," and "Cyclone." Once the concert ended, the show ended as well, bringing out the season in style.

While Lowrider was out in Phoenix, we received a surprise visit at the show stage by Phoenix Vice Mayor Michael Nowakowski. Before our award ceremony began, the Vice Mayor presented us with a certificate of appreciation marking the continuous support of the city for our annual event. Despite the weather, this show was a great way to start off the year rain or shine. We hope to catch you at the next tour stop, and once again, thank you Phoenix for having us!
