The lack of funding for our schools continues to plague just about every school and school district in the United States, especially in California. Schools are constantly struggling to find ways to raise funds in the hope of operating and providing much needed resources for their students. The Lowrider community has stepped up to this challenge, helping to produce car shows and fundraisers by partnering up with local PTAs and schools. This growing trend has earned hundreds of much needed dollars for impoverished schools and school districts, which are struggling more than ever, thanks to the tragic state of the U.S. economy.
On the first weekend in May, Royal Image Car Club teamed up with La Puente's California Elementary School PTA, and hosted a car show and festival on the school grounds, with the goal of raising funds that would benefit the children of the school. Nick from Royal Image worked in collaboration with the PTA to put on the show, and their work paid off in a big way. The event brought in several spectators and car clubs, who all came out to show support for this necessary event. Traffic, Lifestyle, Westside, Techniques, Reality, Imperials and Pride Car Clubs all came out to lend a helping hand to their community. Groupe Car Club had the largest presence at the show, as members from all over Southern California made the trip for the kids. Despite the initial clouds looming early on show day, the sun easily overpowered them by noon, and shed light on the festivities with a symbolic ray of hope for the most important attendees of all; the children.
