The tour sponsors had something for everyone as well. Lugz displayed their newest footwear, raffled off free shoes, and handed out complimentary discount coupons to those who were not fortunate enough to win a pair. Unique Auto Salon showed off their customized rides, displaying their impressive pearled out exotic Lamborghini to the delight of the crowd. Vendors' row also included music from Ruthless Records, as well as clothing from Wanted Wear. Exhaust giant, Flowmaster, was on hand to answer the public's questions. And for those looking for a hook-up, hydraulic teams were also on hand to describe and sell systems.
This year marked the change in the entertainment at the show, as the hydraulic competition also became an invitational exhibition. Music entertainment began with local hero MC Magic, who kicked off the concert and got the crowd ready for another Arizona favorite, L'il Rob. L'il Rob warmed up the crowd with a medley of hits including his radio smash "Summer Nights." Show headliner Mike Jones performed some of his favorites including "In Love With a Stripper", "Back Then", "Flossin" and his latest joint "Next to You." The show concluded once he finished up the set, putting a final exclamation point on this weekend extravaganza.
When there's a lowrider event taking place, it's as if the circus has come to town. The entire weekend was a non-stop party among competitors, enthusiast, and event staff; all coming together in the name of unity and the love and worship of classic automobiles. The lowrider following is strong here, so it's easy to see why many regard Phoenix as the "City of the Future." This event was an overwhelming success and an amazing kick off to this year's tour season. We'll catch you at the next event!
