Once a year Good Times Car Club puts on a show to give back to the custom car community. The Florida chapter, in Sebring, Florida, decided this year to hold their annual show in the same city. Sebring, which is nicknamed the "City on the Circle," became the stomping grounds for hundreds of show vehicles and close to a thousand spectators.
Car clubs from all over Florida arrived in groups. Majestics of Orlando showed up early to showcase their flawless classics; Firme Estilo, Low Lyfe, Uce, and Purolows were also among the top clubs in attendance. The Best of Show award went to Eddie Cardenas, from Uce, with his '84 Buick Regal named "Mi Gusto." Eddie Renteria from Purolows grabbed a top G-body trophy with his '84 Buick Regal. A car that kept the crowd's attention all day was Majestics member Louis Aviles' '69 Chevy Impala, as well as fellow club member Eddie Rosado and his '63 Chevy Impala. A stereo contest held by Babb Audio had the music loud and the competition fierce all day.
Sebring may not be on the map as a nightlife town, but the small-city feeling provided a special camaraderie for the many club members attending. The event was held at Circle Drive, which is in the center of the Sebring downtown historic district. Flaco, from Good Times, said, "I'm glad that I can bring so many different communities together, from classics to lowriders." As a strong addition to the custom car community, lowriders were greeted with respect from all genres of the city. After a successful show, we expect to find this annual show even larger next year.
