Elizabeth, New JerseyThe First Annual Custom Car & Hydraulic Showdown, presented by Bad Influence Auto Sound and Ken's Kustoms, went off without a hitch last September at the Elizabeth Portuguese Club in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The promotional show flyer promised "rain or shine" and they were right on as a few showers fell during the day.

Still, with thousands of dollars in cash prizes in more than 35 classes, plus a sound-off, hot body contest and hydraulics competition, there was too much at stake to let a few raindrops dampen anyone's spirits. Open to all kinds of custom creations, some of the wildest lowriders, trucks and sport compacts in the New York/New Jersey area came out to support this first annual affair. And now that the word is out, look for even more good stuff at the Second Annual Custom Car & Hydraulics Showdown tentatively scheduled for this September.

Putting It Down In PuebloThe Southern Colorado Super Show Rocks The First Time Out.Pueblo, ColoradoThe Colorado State Fairgrounds was the site of the Southern Colorado Super Show held this past September. Holding it down for Southern Colorado, the Drop Shop put on one solid show for the surrounding area with people coming in from as far away as California to show their support. With Coors Light, REV 89.5 FM, 98.9 Magic FM and Miller Lite looming large as sponsors, the first-year show was a huge success.

With 235 entries lining up on Saturday for the roll-in, the show was looking good, vehicle-wise. The contingent of lowrider cars was heavy and everything from hot-rods to hot bikes filled up the hall and outdoor spaces. More than 2,500 people came pouring through the gates this sleepy Sunday morning, with Pueblo's eyes being opened to some of the finest cars in the surrounding areas.

The sounds of performances moved though the air all day with folk dancers and other community performers. A special performance by Albuquerque, New Mexico's own David Wade laced the crowd with some of his jams and had them leaning and rockin'. This is certainly one of those shows that we look forward to seeing again this year and watching it grow in the process.
