Today is the big day! It's the day of Lowrider Magazine's annual Super Show.
After a long night of partying, my girls and I woke up bright and early, showered and headed toward Cashman Field for the Las Vegas Super Show.
We decided to take a taxi to the show, because traffic was very hectic, and we just knew that we wouldn't be able to find anywhere to park. When we got out of the taxi, there was a swarm of people waiting to get into the show. I felt as though I were waiting in line for a Prince concert. As we mobbed our way through the tough crowd, we finally entered the show. As we passed through the gate, I noticed all types of people who all shared the same common interest for lowriding. The grouped ranged from old people, today's youth, as well as families. From there, I realized that this show was definitely going to be very interesting.
As we began walking toward the action, people were stopping us left and right trying to take pictures with us. As we stopped a few times to take a couple of pix, I noticed an array of beautiful and extravagant lowriders. The paint was so immaculate. It was obvious that these people invested a lot of time and money in making these cars award winners. As I walked around and interviewed some of the owners, I realized that a lot of people have spent their entire lives trying to create their ultimate lowrider vehicle. After walking around and talking with some of these men who seemed to love their cars more than their wives, it was time for the live entertainment to begin.
After I said goodbye to my sister and friends, I made my way backstage. It was very hectic in the backstage area. Everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
It was really cool getting the opportunity to be backstage and see how everything works. Brown Boy did an awesome performance of his hit song Superman. All the women were definitely feeling that one. Next we had Capone, who entered the stage with his whole entourage. Capone did a great job as well. Everyone was waiting patiently for him to perform his hit song Don't Get it Twisted, which features Twista. This song set the perfect mood. The sun was going down and the wind was blowing gently while the crowd swayed back and forth. After the performance by Capone, we also had performances by Chingy and Too Short, who pumped up the crowd. People were "backing it up" as well as "dropping it like it was hot." They were definitely getting it crunk.
In conclusion, I had an awesome time at this year's Las Vegas Super Show. It was an experience that I have never experienced before. I hope that if you didn't get the chance to attend the Super Show that you will definitely be there next year, because this show is definitely unforgettable.
See you next year!
