Englishtown

What can we say about Englishtown, New Jersey, that hasn't already been said? Fourth of July weekend on the East Coast is sure a good time to be had by all. The fireworks in New York City rank as some of the best in the world and the Macy's-sponsored affair is major major. But enough about that, let's talk about the show across the Hudson River in the Garden State and all of the crazy cars coming out of the tri-state area and beyond reppin' for their hoods.

Englishtown is always one of the big events in the East and if you want to make some noise on the Atlantic show scene, the IDRC Import & Lowrider Summer Slam at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park is one of the places to make it happen. Just looking around the seventh annual 2003 show made us realize that the East Coast is really doing the thing, with some of the hottest cars that we've seen in a while. Cars with Lambo-style doors were everywhere. There were so many tight rides at the show--in addition to the hydraulics contest, import drag race, bikini contest and live entertainment--that we'll have to come back at some point to hit up some more features, but until then check out the pics.
