Lone Star lowriders respond to new moved-up show date without missing a beat.

San Antonio, Texas, was on fire in more ways than one this past May. During the weekend of the annual Lowrider Tour event in San Anto, the city's NBA Spurs were battling it out for a playoff spot while Lowrider Magazine was stomping through and shaking the Alamodome. The moved-up show date this year helped beat the heat, if only slightly.
Having more than 350 cars in attendance and thousands of happy spectators roaming the aisles made for an exciting show with plenty of things to see and do. Tour sponsors Quaker State, Rockford Fosgate, Fuze Energia Positiva, Harley-Davidson and CCE Hydraulics were all in attendance, and many of them were giving away plenty of stuff, including an Apple iPod and Sony PSP.
Rollerz Only Car Club rolled out the red carpet for San Antonio... literally. With more than 45 entries, Rollerz had an entire aisle (flanked by U.S. Army vehicles) to themselves with four rows of red carpet lining the aisles for a pretty impressive display. Majestics, Slow & Low, Knights of Pleasure, Bonafide, Firme and many more car clubs came out to show their rides, hang out with fellow lowriders and check out some of the hottest cars and trucks in Texas and the Southwest.
Cars made it into San Anto from as far west as California, with Florida and more representing, but Lone Star State lowriders dominated in the Alamodome. Texas really showed why it's a big dog in the lowrider game, and the cars and enthusiasm in the air were apparent.
The entertainment was what you'd expect from a Lowrider Tour event. First up was David Banner and he gave his usual explosive show, working the crowd and then taking a trip into the stands to connect with his audience. Magic from the NB Ridaz then had the crowd singing along as he did something old and something new.
San Antonio was certainly another great show for Texas, the state that no should mess with, and we agree. If you couldn't make it to the San Anto show, you get a second chance in Houston on July 30, for another Texas-sized shoot 'em up and the final Texas Tour event of the year.
