Providence, Rhode IslandProvidence RepresentsNortheast lowriders gather in impressive numbers for Rhode Island Toys For Tots event.
Northeast lowriders came together one Saturday this past November for a special event at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island, to raise toys for Toys For Tots. The trees had shed their leaves for the coming winter, but the lowriders were still out in impressive numbers.
This event was the idea of William McGowan AKA "Archie," who is a member of Layitlow.com and active in the Northeast Cars topic. Archie and his friends from Cranston, Rhode Island, wanted to bring all of the lowriders in the Northeast together one last time before the snow hit for a noble cause such as Toys For Tots.
Less than a week's notice was given out about this event, but the turnout was incredible. Representatives from Chicanos, Tru Ridez, Eternal Rollerz, First Impressions, La Familia, Twizted Stylz and many others came to this show. Rides came from in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and even New Jersey! A hop scale was brought along for some non-competitive fun.
Everyone had a good time in the name of unity and charity. With their remarkable turnout, Archie and his friends managed to raise a full carload of toys. This great bunch of lowriders plans to make this a yearly event and, with more notice for this year, the show can only get bigger and better.
