Down-home customs shine at Southern Showdown III in Kentucky.

The Southern Showdown made its way back to the Bullitt County Fairgrounds in Louisville, Kentucky, this past Summer and the third annual two-day event featured many lowriders and car enthusiasts in attendance. The Southern Showdown III was put on by Cool Cars with the help of sponsors Player Wire Wheels, Nitto Tires, CCE Hydraulics, Smart Shoppers, Air Ride Technology and SNS Tires.

The Southern Showdown had a little something for everyone from live bands to MC Bukshot who rocked the crowd. As always, the Showdown did have a hot bikini contest, but it was no match for the notorious Miss Naughty contest (which we never get to publish). The Mardi Gras party atmosphere made for a great show. There was several girls out there livening up the show, including the lovely Miss Angie who was representing Cool Cars.

Cars and clubs came from everywhere, including Uso C.C. who always roll deep. The USO presence was felt as even club founder Kita and CEO Jae were in attendance at this very big regional show. Other clubs lending their support to the event included Individuals, Ground Force, Prime Time, Kaotic Customs, Limelight, Outspoken, Drop Mob and Villens, to name just a few.

With an anything goes attitude, the hydraulic competition was off the hook as the local competition came out to show their moves. With safety as the only requisite, local favorite Jason Grimes wowed the crowd as he rolled the CCE-equipped "El Sancho." Coming in to the Blue Grass State all of the way from Long Island, New York, Jason Marchese also rolled his radical truck. Someone even stood up a radical truck hopper to the delight of the Kentucky crowd. Overall, the hydraulic competition was a success.

The same could be said of the Southern Showdown as a whole, as crowds of Kentuckians and those from other neighboring states came out to gawk at more than 500 cars competing in 50 classes of competition. Along with everything else, the attendance at Southern Showdown III was very impressive and we're sure to see even bigger numbers and an even wilder weekend at this year's Southern Showdown IV.
