Cris Parada has been building and painting cars since before he was old enough to legally drive them. His goal when he built "Mufasa," his '82 Cutlass Supreme, was to hit the streets and the lowrider car shows. His love for lowriding keeps him on top of the hopping scene. The Cutlass got the name Mufasa from The Lion King, a Disney movie with a character named Mufasa who is the King of the Jungle.

Being part of the Maniacos Car Club, Cris is prepared for some hopping action and is always ready to hit the streets. He's been awarded the King of Cali in his class and has taken home over 30 trophies, along with numerous cash prices.

Cris built his Cutlass using a single Black Magic pump setup for the front. This caused the haters to talk smack about his car by spreading rumors that he has hidden weight in his bumpers and speaker boxes, and that he uses thicker reinforcement metal on the rear of the car. He proved them all wrong by making videos of himself taking the car apart and showing the world that there is no hidden weight anywhere in the car. Cris put the setup together by testing different parts on the car. The end result, including the rear, is a two-pump Black Magic setup with six batteries, three dumps, eight solenoids, and number six hoses, with 8-inch cylinders in the front and 14-inch cylinders in the rear hooked up to four switches. The car is also reinforced on stress points, proving the rumors wrong that he had used heavier steel on the back part of the frame.

Cris would like to give special thanks to Ron from Black Magic Hydraulics and to Kool-Aid for hooking him up with the coils. So if you think you're ready to nose on up to Cris and his "Cutty," bring it on; and if after you become a hater, he'll give you a video.

If you have a hydraulics setup that hits back bumper or is making you "go for broke," email some images along with basic information to: saul.vargas@sourceinterlink.com.
