Syid Rasheed has always liked the lowrider scene, and, at the age of 57, Syid is still out there schooling the younger generation. His double-pump Cadillac is the car to beat. Syid, a television repairman, dialed in the car over a three-month time period and the result is a big body that takes no prisoners.
Syid started off by sending the Cadillac to Red's Hydraulics in Lynwood, California. The car received a fully wrapped frame that helps keep it from buckling under pressure. For suspension travel, 8-inch "strokes" were used for the front and 16-inch in the rear to allow the car to lock up when it's time to nose up with the competition on the street.
For equipment, the boys at Red's didn't hold back. The car was hooked up with four pumps, two of which are piston pros, which means that they put out so much pressure that the only valve that can control them with accuracy is an Adex heavy duty square dump. In order to get the suspension to move as quickly as it does, 14 batteries were wired up in series to power the system.
This Cadillac was originally an "old lady" car that Syid purchased for $200. Syid told us that when he first spotted the car, it was in a front yard with a "for sale" sign and he knew that he couldn't pass up the deal. This car was built with the intention of serving people. What do we mean? Well, this is the current "King of the Street" Cadillac that's tearing up the competition. Even though he's 57, Syid can't wait to get older so he can hop even higher!
