We caught up with "Lil' Mac," the vice president of Keepin' It Real C.C., down in Gardena, California, after "Switchman" made a call and asked him to roll in with his '83 Cutlass. Lil' Mac installed new armatures just to show us what he could do.
The single-pump Cutlass was put together by Lil' Mac in his backyard over a two-month period. The car received 6-inch strokes up front and 16-inch cylinders in the rear to allow it to lock up when it's time to nose up. With one single gate-style pump to the nose and nine batteries to power up the system, Lil' Mac is able to get on the switch and get his ride going.
Since this car was built to serve people, Lil' Mac knew that he was going to be driving it, so he went to Fatty Boys in L.A. to add some music to the trunk. Fatty Boys installed two Kicker Solobaric L7 woofers powered by a pair of Kenwood amplifiers and controlled by a Kenwood head unit. Having all of this in the trunk allows Lil' Mac to be heard by his boulevard rivals before they get served with some back bumper action.
"Tammy," as Lil' Mac refers to her, is always ready to roll. Not too bad for a backyard build and a $300 investment, but then the roots of lowriding can be traced back to the backyards, driveways and garages, so Lil' Mac is keeping it real. Good work.
