Each month in "From the Hood" we will be bringing you one of the sport's hottest-looking engine compartments. The new section will highlight an engine that has been customized and hooked up with performance parts as well as cosmetic components. From The Hood will be broken down to include performance parts, pulleys and brackets, engine compartments, induction and ignition systems.
This month, we feature a few engine shots from Mario DeAlba's '93 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, "Cadistrophic," from Elite C.C. Mario customized this small-block GM 350-c.i.d. 5.7-liter engine and the engine compartment in his spare time. He painted everything himself. He also stretched and re-routed the stock wiring harness, and had all of the metal gold plated and the compartment highlighted by pinstriper Mike Tippets. If you feel that you have an engine that might meet the From The Hood standard, feel free to submit an image to us at: saul.vargas@primedia.com.
