Rich Boy's chart topping song "Throw Some D'z" is causing an enormous amount of hype in the streets as well as fame for this young southern rapper.
Born as Maurice Richards, Rich Boy hasn't always been in the limelight. Before he received his big break he attended Tuskegee University where he studied mechanical engineering. His first semester was when his career commenced, but not as a rapper. "I heard a beat in the hallway when I was walking back to my dorm room, I stopped cause he had the door open," explains Rich Boy. "I asked what CD was on and he said it was a beat he had just made. I was so shocked, so I asked him to teach me.
From that I started making beats everyday."Rich began producing beats, and it wasn't until Roy Jones Jr. got his hands on one of his CD's and ended up purchasing a few tracks, was when the recognition of Rich Boy began. With that, he started to rap over a few tracks that reached the local radio station in Mobile Alabama (93 WBLX). He eventually got his music into the hands of evening personality Nick @ Nite, who played Rich Boy's song Cold as Ice. Soon after, Jim Crow came to the station; Rich Boy made it a point to hand out his CD to one of the group members that goes by the name of Polow the Don. After Polow listen to the track and heard his skills, he immediately called Rich Boy and told him that he should seriously try rapping.
